Worked All Austria (WAOE)

OE and surrounding countries of HB0, HB9, OK, HA,  I, OM, S5 and DL: Contact at least 3 stations on at least 2 different bands in OE call areas 1,2,3,5,6,7 and 8. One contact in OE4 or OE9, whereby at least one contact per call area must be on 80 or 40 meters. Other Europeans - as above, except without the 80/40 meters rule. Rest of world - contact 8 of the 9 OE call areas on any band.

Worked 1000 Different Stations in a Year (UKW 1000)

Submit proof of having contacted 1000 stations without CQ or contesting on the FM band. UHF/VHF/SHF only. Application must be confirmed by an official FM manager of OVSV.

W-OE-XHQ Diplom

Contact club stations of the OVSV OE1XHQ to OE9XHQ on the HF bands during any calendar year. Work at least 6 OE1 - 9XHQ on different bands and modes. May be earned for all SSB, all CW or Mixed modes. Austrian Youth Award

Since 1 st January 2012 the ÖVSV Youth-Department has established its own award. The fee for one diploma is about 10,-€ and includes the shipping costs and also the material costs. The rest is for the ÖVSV Yout Department especially for the clubstation. The money may be transfered by bank or it can be atached to the award petition if you send it to us by post. The diploma may be requested by a formless e-mail, letter or fax. It should include: your name, call sign, address, the name of the award being applied for list of contacts with all necessary information including calls of stations and name of operator. 

The diploma "Austrian Youth Award" (international) may be worked by every licensed radio amateur and SWLs. The conditions are the same. There are three categories of the award:

BRONZE with 1000 points
SILVER with 2000 points
GOLD with 3000 points

For the award are valid
QSOs only with OE-stations,
QSOs on every band,
QSOs in all modes (even Echolink, etc.),
More than one QSO with a station only count once (except Kid’s-Day-special-stations – once every Kid’s-Day).

WDRC DIPLOMA (Worked Danube River Countries)

The Danube River flows through 10 countries on its way from the Black Forest to the Black Sea.  Contact 3 stations in each of at least 9 of these countries to earn this award. (Total of 27 contacts.)
The 10 countries are: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine.
  Contacts on or after 1 January 2000.  The diploma may also be requested to individual bands or modes.

ADL DIPLOMA (Worked Austrian District Locators) 

For the purposes of this award, Austria is composed of the 10 Federal States plus the Austrian Military Radio Section, for a total of 11 major subdivisions. The 10 Federal States are further divided into "District Locators".  The award requires 20 different "ADL's" which must include contacts with at least 6 of the Austrian Federal States.  Most Austrian station include their "ADL" on their QSL card, making identification a simple matter.

The following PREFIXES can be counted: ES, HA, HV, I, IT, IS0, LY, OE; OH; OH0, OJ0, OK, OM, S5, SP, T7, T9, TK, UA2, YL, YU, 4O, ZA, Z3, 1A0 SMOM, 9A, 9H, 4U1VIC. Each club station contacted may be used as "wild card" (Joker) and will count for the 3 QSOs in their country.

Worked Carinthian Districts

The award pictures an 11th century castle, sitting prominently on top of a 400 foot high limestone cliff, and visible from many surrounding mountains and hills.

The ÖVSV of the National Association Carinthia, donates this award for all radio amateurs and SWL's for making contacts with Carinthian stations (prefix OE8) and earning at least 100 points on or after 1 Jan 2000. Each QSO with a station from Carinthia is worth 10 points. Each contact with a club station from OE8 counts 50 points. All bands and modes OK.

 


Alpine Country Award

Contact the Alpine countries of Europe. There are 8 countries which contain significant Alpine mountainous country. These are: F, 3A, HB, HB0, I, DL, OE and S5. The award may be earned by working at least 5 different stations from each of 7 of these 8 countries, a total of 35 contacts. SWL OK. Contacts on or after 1.1.2010. All modes and bands OK. The award may be endorsed if all contacts are made in one mode. .

The award is available in an electronic version for reduced fee of 5E. (Apply to diplom@oevsv.at for e-award.). The diploma fee for the printed version is € 10.00,

The diploma indicates the Alpine arc, starting in the west in Monaco and France to the east to Slovenia and Austria.

Austrian Cities Award

Contact different OE cities on or after 1 Jan 1970. Each city counts for one point, the so-called "free cities" count for 2 points each. On HF, Class 1 requires 100 points; Class 2 70 points and Class 3 40 points. On VHF, Class 1 requires 60 points, Class 2 40 and Class 3 20. The official list of 151 cities and 15 "free cities" available for SASE to K1BV.

Worked Danube River Award

Awarded for contacting stations in countries which border the Danube River on or after 1 Jan 1958. All bands and modes. SWL OK. Requirements: 15 DL, 7 OE (1 must be OE1), 2 OM, 5 HA, 3 YU, 3 YO, 1 LZ 1 ER, 2 UR and 1 9A station.   VHF requires 4 countries and 4 calls = 16 contacts.

Worked Prefix Zone 15

Contact countries/prefixes in Zone 15. These are: ES, HA, HV, I, IS, IT, LY, OE, OH, OJ, OK, OM, S5, SP, T7, TK, UA2, YL, ZA, 1A0, 4N4, 9A, 9H and 4U1VIC. Class 1 needs 15 countries and 50 prefixes, Class 2; 12 and 40, Class 3; 8 and 30, Class T (160 meters); 3 and 8.  Class U, only for VHF/UHF, 4 different countries and 10 different prefixes. 

Vienna Award

Contact different districts of Vienna on or after 1 Apr 1954. SWL OK. The district must be clearly marked on the QSL card. Class 1 requires 23 different districts; Class 2 needs 15.

AGDX Award

The award is issued for verifications from at least 25 radio countries and can be endorsed for 50, 75, 100 and higher in increments of 10. Available to any BCL, SWL or licensed amateur. All bands, all modes and all services (Broadcast, Amateur, Utility stations), individual or mixed. The ARRL DXCC or EDXC countries list are equally valid. Applicants must include a statement on the mode(s) and country list chosen; i.e. DXCC, 2XSSB. GCR list will be accepted, cards not needed. Endorsements are free but SASE with one IRC is needed.

AGDX-UKW Award

This award recognizes verifications made using VHF and UHF with the same rules as the preceding AGDX except that the initial award is made available for 5 countries. Endorsements for each additional 5 countries.

Heard All Continents Award

Submit a QSL from a Broadcast (HF) station in each of the continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Oceania. Reception of the stations must be within a 24 hour period for the Silver Diploma.  If all receptions are made in 12 hours, you may apply for the Golden Diploma.  Only Broadcast stations are valid for the award (no amateur or utility).  They must have transmitted within an official broadcast band (e.g. the 49 m etc bands) including Tropical Bands.  No out-of-band transmissions (e.g. feeders, etc.)  Applicants must include the original QSL cards.  They will be returned along with your award.  If you request a QSL from a station, always ask for confirmation of date and time. 


AMRS Award   Austrian Military Radio Society Award (AMRS)

Austrians earn 30 points (all others 20) by contacting members of the AMRS on or after 1 Jan 1961. Most of their members are either active or retired military personnel. Each member may only be worked one time, but if the member worked is in a different location, then each contact will be worth one or more points depending on the location.

Point values:

a. each member contact = 1 point.
b. each AMRS club station = 2 points. (They have an "X", such as OE1XRC).
c. AMRS stations abroad either on military duty in 5B4, YK, YU8 or even on vacation = 3 points.

Example: OE8HFL (located in AUSTRIA) = 1 point, OE8HFL/5B4 = 3 points.

The Babenberger-Award 

The award is available for all radio-amateur-stations and SWL. The goal is to work stations from Lower Austria OE3 and the city of Klosterneuburg. 
The award shows the beautiful monastery Klosterneuburg founded by St. Leopold in two combined views, the right part as of the year 1672 and in the left part as of the 
year 1984! 

Requirements: 
Europeans need 30 Points
All others need 20 Points 

Contacts with all Stations from OE3 – Lower Austria are valid. 
QSOs with stations from Klosterneuburg get 5 Bonus-points 

Point values for each QSO: 
FM QSO's = 2 Points 
SSB QSO's = 4 Points 
Digital modes (RTTY, PSK, etc.) = 5 Points 
CW QSO's = 6 Points. 

Only direct contacts are valid; no use of repeaters or internet.

Carinthia Diploma

In one of the most beautiful valleys of Carinthia, rises a 150 meter high limestone cliff. atop of which was built the 860 Hochosterwitz castle, built initially in the possession of King Louis the German. Between the 11th and 12th Century the castle served as a refuge for people during the attacks of enemy hordes. After many generations the castle is again in possession of the family Khevenhüller and has assumed the task of passing on the castle from generation to generation.

The ÖVSV, Carinthian, sponsors this award for all radio amateurs and SWL's who make/(hear) contacts with stations in Carinthia (prefix OE8). All radio contacts starting on 1.1.2000 can be used for the award. Award Requirements: For an award application 100 points are needed.

Contact values:
1. Each QSO with a station from OE8 in Carinthia = 10 points.
2. Each connection to a club station OE8 = 50 points.

Castles On The Air – Austria (COTA-OE)

The award program COTA-OE Award (Castles On The Air – Austria) has been instituted by The Amateur Radio Club Heidenreichstein (AFCH) and ÖVSV. The COTA-OE Award is given to any licensed radio-amateur or SWL for QSO/SWL with radio stations who contact stations operating from castles and fortresses of Austria made after the 1st of January 2013 from the same DXCC territory, including any mobile positions ((/ am, / p, / mm, / m). There are no any restrictions by bands and modes. Any OE station operating from a castle or fortress must give the number according to the COTA-OE reference list. This number also must be printed on the QSL card.

The diploma is issued in four classes.
Bronze for 15 COTA – OE castles / fortresses
Silver for 25 COTA – OE castles / fortresses
Gold for 35 COTA – OE castles / fortresses
Platinum for 45 COTA – OE castles / fortresses

Stations that activate a castle / fortress must be located within the prescribed radius (see WCA rules).

Issued to honor the memory of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross. Contact members of the Linz Amateur Radio Club ADL 505 after 1 January 1984.

Klagenfurt Partnership City Award

As with many cities, Klagenfurt, Austria has allied itself with a number of sister or partnership cities. Award is available in 4 classes as follows:

Class A - Work 3 Klagenfurt and all 9 partnership cities.
Class B - OE's work 2 Klagenfurt and 5 partnership cities.
Class C - Europeans need 2 Klagenfurt and 5 partnership cities.
Class D - All others need one Klagenfurt and 3 partnership cities.

Partnership cities are: Wiesbaden, W.Germany Venlo, Netherlands Gladsaxe, Denmark Gorizia, Italy Nova Gorica, Yugoslavia Rzesow, Poland Dessau, E.Germany Dachau, W.Germany Duschanbe, USSR.

OE FLORA & FAUNA – OEFF (Worked OE Flora & Fauna)

The Amateurfunkverein Heidenreichstein (AFCH) issues this ÖVSV recognized award to licensed radio amateurs and short wave listeners for contacts with nature parks and preserves made after January 1st 2009 under the following conditions:

All QSOs must be made from the same DXCC-entity. A change of location (/am, /p, /mm, /m) is approved, there are no restrictions in using any bands or modes.
You must establish contacts with several national parks and nature reserves in Austria according to the list found on their web-site. The OEFF-reference is equal to the WFF-reference and has to be printed on the QSL-card you have received.

The award is available in 4 classes:
Bronze for 5 OE FF areas
Silver for 10 OE FF areas
Gold for 20 OE FF areas
Platinium for 44 OE FF areas

Stations activating a national park or a nature reserve must be located within the borders of the park or preserve. It is presupposed that the activator is following the rules of the area activated.

Oesterreich Rundspruch Diplom

There are weekly news bulletins on the amateur radio bands on fixed short wave (and VHF also) frequencies, and this certificate verifies the reception of 20 of these transmissions. The applicant must have either 20 QSLs for such transmissions or (instead of the QSL cards) give a list of "control times" which are announced twice in each transmission (the listener verifies his reception of the transmission by knowing these times). Peter Rosegger Diplom

Scout Radio Diploma

The award is available to all amateurs and SWL's who work Austrian scout amateur stations or SWL,. The award is recognized by the Austrian Radio League (ÖVSV) and the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides of Austria (PPÖ).

For non-European stations:
Contacts or SWL with at least 5 Austrian Scout amateur radio stations., including a minimum of one Austrian Scout Radio Club station (see list of stations below).

European stations:
Contacts or SWL with at least 10 Austrian Scout amateur radio stations located in 2 different provinces. Among them must be 2 Austrian Scout amateur radio club stations.

For Austrian stations:
Contacts or SWL with at least 15 Austrian Scout amateur radio stations located in 3 different provinces. Among them must be at least 3 Austrian Scout amateur radio club stations.

Special call signs include in their validity every time, eg OE35XVS, OEM4XVS, OE4XVS/40.
