(K1BV thanks LY3BJ for including my call sign in the group of those who were displaced. But my grandparents emigrated from Lithuania just before World War I. My connection of "the old country" comes primarily from my grandparents, now deceased, who taught me a few words in the native tongue and were simple people who lived quiet lives in America. They avoided the mass deportations to Siberia and other cruelties starting in 1941.)
