Contact at least 10 different stations in Bucharest, the Romanian capital.

Diploma BUCHAREST Jubilee Award

Contact at least 5 stations in Bucharest, Romania's capital annually between 1-31 December. The applications must be submitted no later than March 31 of the following year.

Diploma YO-AD All Districts Award
Contact stations in Romanian call areas YO2-YO9 per the requirements shown in the table below.  The number of contacts and districts varies according to your CQ Zone.

Diploma is issued in three classes, as follows:

YO-BZ Balkans Peace  Zone Award                     
Contact stations in different Balkan countries plus QSO in the number of districts of YO per the list below.

Diploma issued in three classes as:           
Class I:   24 QSO in 18 districts in 5 countries in the Balkans  + 6 districts of  YO with 3 QSOs from each.                    
Class II:  21 QSO in 15 districts in 4 countries in the Balkans  + 6 districts of  YO with 2 QSOs from each. 
Class III: 18 QSO in 12 districts in 3 countries in the Balkans  + 6 districts of  YO with 1 QSO from each. 

The Balkan countries are:  LZ, SV, SV5, SV9, SV/A, T9, TA(European), YO, YU, 4O, Z3, ZA.

YO-DC Double Diploma Award call
Contact 26 stations which have double letters in their suffix from AA to ZZ. Minimum required number of Romanian stations in this group for YO is 8 stations, for Europe, 5 YO stations, and for  DX, 2 YO stations.  Stations with three letter suffixes may be used  if their call has two of the letters next to each other: For example: AAT or CCZ.

YO-DR Danube River Award       
Contact stations in countries through which the Danube River flows.
These countries are: DL, ER, OE, OM, HA, 9A, YU, LZ, YO, UR.
3 QSO’s are needed with each country, and 5 in Romania.  Of the total, at least three QSOs must be with cities which are located on the banks of the Danube. On VHF, at least 3 and YO are needed.

YO-DX-C award
Contact stations who are members of the YO DX Club.
Europeans need 5, Romanians need 10 and all others need 2 members.

YO-LC Large Cities Award
Contact stations which are located in the major cities in Romania as listed below.

Diploma issued in three classes:
Class I:  EU need  30 DX QSO in 30 major cities: DX 20 in 20 cities VHF: 10 QSO in 10 cities
Class II  EU need: 20 DX QSO in 20 major cities: DX 10 in 10 cities VHF   8 QSO of 8 cities.
Class III EU need  10 DX QSO in 10 major cities; DX: 5 in 5 cities    VHF  6 QSO of 6 cities.

YO-CM Chess Mate Diploma Award
Contact 64 stations of which at least 8 of which are in Romania, as follows:
Horizontal row of the chess board is filled with eight stations YO worked. In each box vertically, make the other: seven indicative (or YO) where their suffix has at least one common letter, the same, with the suffix of the first box YO station.
For example: first station listed is YO3KAA, the key point is K, the following is the listing of the vertical row: JA1KKZ, DL1KP, W5IK, YO6KBM, HA8AK, LZ1KWT, I1KKK.

YO-CM-Masters Diploma Award
In this case, first row are members of YO DX Club, the vertically can also use the same member YO DX Club, but worked in different bands.

YO-NC Diploma Award Call Namesake
Contact 5 stations which have the same suffix as yours.  Stations with a three-letter suffix only need 3 different stations with identical suffixes. .

This degree was instituted for those who submit evidence that they made contacts with stations in countries crossed the meridian 25 degrees East, including one YO station.

Class I:   12 QSO from 12 countries         VHF: 3 countries + YO
Class II:    8 QSO in 8 countries,              VHF: 8 countries + YO
Class III    5 QSO of 5 countries               VHF: 1 country + YO

Traveling 25 East countries are: LA, OH, ES, YL, LY, EU, UR, YO, LZ, SV, SV9, 5A, SU, ST, TL, 9Q, 9J, V5, A2, ZS.

YO-45P 45th  Parallel award
Contact stations located in countries through which the 45th parallel passes, including a station YO.

The award and the honorary membership in the YO DX Club counts as a certificate. 

YO - Diploma "Alphabetic"
This award was established for those who show evidence that they have made contacts with stations that use all the letters of the alphabet in the same position of the call sign suffix.
You can choose any position after the call area, but all contacts used for the award must have the same place after the call area.  For example, these contacts use the first position in the suffix:

SOS - Nature (SOS - Natura)

Contact ARER members after 1 Mar 1993, earn 10 points. YO9KYR = 5, all other members = 1 each.

Forest's Moon (Luna-P~durii)

Work 11 YO stations during the period of March 15 to April 15 each year (2 must be members of ARER) using any one letter of their suffix to spell the term "LUNA PADURII". May be earned each year.

Day of the Earth - 22 April (Ziua Pamîntului)

Work 23 YO stations during the period of 20 to 30 April each year (at least 3 must be ARER members - from YO9KYE use "e") to spell the phrase "THE DAY OF THE EARTH - 22 APRIL". Any letter from the suffix of the 21 stations may be used for the words, and you must work 2 YO2 stations for the "22". May be earned each year.

Reservation - Bucegi (Rezervatìa Bucegi)

Work YO9KYE/P from at least 4 different chalets/QTH's after 1-1-94.

Century of "Grigore Antipa" Museum (Centenarul Muzeului "Grigore Antipa")

Work 31 YO stations using any one letter of their suffix to spell the phrase: "THE CENTURY OF GRIGORE ANTIPA MUSEUM" or "CENTENARUL MUZEULUI GRIGORE ANTIPA". At least 5 of the stations must be ARER members, and at least one station from each of the following counties: BT (Botosani), IS (Iasi), and BU (Bucharest).

Contacts after 1-1-94. May be earned each year.

Valley of Prahova (Valea Prahovei)

Worked fixed or portable stations from the towns: Predeal, Azuga, Busteni, Sinaia, Comarnic, Breaza or Cimpana. Class I = 6 towns, Class II = 5 towns, Class III = 4 towns. Contacts after 1-1-94. May be earned each year.

Cezar Petrescu's Century (Centenar Cezar Petrescu)

Contact 13 ARER members whose any letter of their suffix spells the phrase "CEZAR PETRESCU". You must use YO9KYE for one of the "E's" and one contact from the town of Busteni which has a memorial house for this famous Romanian. Contacts after 1-1-94. May be earned each year.

Natural Reservations of Romania (Rezervatiile Naturale Ale Romaniei)

Work stations from YO counties which contain Nature Reservations. You must use at least 10 ARER members. Class I = 20, Class II = 18, Class III = 16. Counties valid for this award are: AG BZ BH BN BV CJ CV CS CT DB GR GJ HD HR IF MH NT PH SB SV TL TM VL. Contacts after 1-1-94.

ECO-Delta of Danube River (ECO-Delta Dunarii)

Earn 10 points by contacting fixed or portable stations in Tulcea county after 1-1-94. Club stations = 2 points, all others = 1.

Blue Danube (Dun~rea Alabastr~)

Make 10 QSO's in countries which the Danube flows through. At least 5 countries are needed and 5 towns which are located near Danube river ports. One ARER member is required. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

Paracelsus - 500

Spell the word "PARACELSUS" from any of the suffixes of 10 stations. At least one must be a YO from Mures (MS) county and one from HB9 - Switzerland. The YO stations must be ARER members. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

The Men of Science From Romania (Oameni de Stiintá Romani)

Contact YO's from counties where famous Romanian Men of Science were born, plus one OE1 from Wien/Vienna, Austria. Each of the following counties are needed: AB BZ AG BC BV BT DJ VS IS MH NT, Bucharest and Wien/Vienna, Austria OE1. At least 5 ARER members are required. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

Emil Racovita - 125

Contact 11 ARER members whose any letters of their suffix spells the name "EMIL RACOVITA". They must include Vaslui (VS) and Iasi (IS) counties. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

ECO - Black Sea (ECO - Marea Neagrá)

Contact each of the countries which border the Black Sea (YO, LZ, TA, UB, UA and UF). The YO must be a ARER member from Tulcea (TL) or Constantza (CT) county. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

Robert Koch - 150 (1843-1910)

Contact 10 stations using any letters of their suffix to spell the name "ROBERT KOCH". 6 must be ARER members and one must be a DL - Germany. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

The Century of Society Mining and Iron - Cálan (Centenarul Societatii Miniere Si Siderurgile - Cálan)

Earn 10 points by working YO's in Cálan. ARER members = 2 points, others = 1. Same station may be worked on different bands or modes for added points. Contacts after 1 May 1994.

ECO - Romania

Work all the counties of Romania - using members of ARER.

Award of Latin (Diploma Latinitátii)

Work Latin countries of the world. The YO station must be a member of ARER. 

Class I - 4 continents and 30 Latin countries.
Class II - 3 continents and 20 Latin countries.
Class III - 2 continents and 10 Latin countries.

Award of Honor - ARER (Diploma De Onoare ARER)

Issued free of charge to any amateur or SWL who has earned any 15 of the 19 awards listed above.

 


Bacau Award

Contact stations in BACAU county after 1 January 1955. SWL OK. Endorsements for one band or mode upon request. Each Bacau QSO = 1 point, and if worked during MOLDOVA contest = 4 points. 1st Class = 30 points, 2nd Class = 20 points, 3rd Class = 10 points. Braila commemorated its 625th year in 1993 and has established a permanent award for contacting stations living there on or after 1 May 1993.

Danube Islands Explorer Program

Contact stations which are operating on islands located on the Danube river on or after 1 January 2010. Many of Danube islands are part of nature reserves, so that contacts may also count for Nature awards such as the WFF series.

Their website listed below contains lists of the known islands on the Danube River as it flows through: Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. Each island has a code of 3 letters and 2 digits, depending on the country. This designator should be used in your application. The lists shows: code for the island, denomination, grid-locator, geographical coordinates and various annotation such as access points, WFF areas, etc. As new information is developed, it will be added to each island.

For island hunters:
The Basic award is given for QSO's with at least 5 different islands (one QSO/island).
Higher class awards are granted for each new group of 5 islands.
Awards may be endorsed for all one country, or for modes and bands. For stations who make QSO's with islands on all 7 Danube countries, a special award will be given.

Activators: Awards are avaiilable in three classes:
1. Island activator: activation of at least 3 different islands or 6 activation at least 2 different islands.
2. Island explorer: activation of at least 5 different islands or 10 activations at least 3 different islands.
3. Island explorer master: activation of at least 10 different islands of at least 5 countries.

The awards sent electronically, are free of charge. The cost of a printed and plasticized award is: 5 Euro or 6 USD. If the electronic award is wished, send list to the e-mail address shown below. DXFF Diploma Let's Save Our Planet Earth

Work and can prove you have made contacts with stations operating in parks or nature reserves around the world (according to the official DXCC list). The basic award is issued for a minimum 10 different entities worked. For each additional group of 10 new entities a new award with a different design will be issued. The awards may be endorsed for different modes or/and bands. Diploma can be obtained supplying confirmation via the WFF database (http://wff44.com/ ) or by providing copies of QSL cards received. The award can also be delivered in electronic format as a jpg image to be printed on your own equipment.

The fee for the first DXFF Diploma (10 entities) is 5 euros or 5 valid IRC, and is delivered in a electronic or printed format. The next upgraded awards are issued free of charge if you agree to receive the award in electronic format (. pdf file). If you wish, the award can be mailed to you in printed format, and the fee will be 5 euros or 5 valid IRC each.

General Requirements: The PRO-CW-CLUB was designed for fans of CW. and is now offering a group of awards which may be earned for all modes: CW, SSB, DIGI or MIXED. All of the awards and certificates are FREE and will be issued in electronic form, via e-mail. QSO's are valid after the date of : 1 January 2000.

The awards will be issued only once, indifferent of mode, but you may request endorsement for a desired mode. An Exception is made for the ALL CONTINENTS Certificate, which can be issued as a separate certificate for CW, SSB, DIGI and MIXED modes.

This certificate is granted for QSO's with 6 continents, namely AF, AS, EU, NA, OC, SA.
1 QSO is required for each continent.
Certificate will be issue for different modes CW, SSB, DIGI and MIXED.
QSO's are valid after 1 January 2000 in any band 1.8 to 50 MHz.

ANTARCTIDA Certificate

This certificate is issued in memory of the Romanian polar explorers Emil Racovi and Teodor Negoiță who founded Romanian research in Antarctica.
Emil Racoviță (15Nov. 1868 - 17 Nov. 1947), academician, scientist, biologist, spelologist and explorer, was part of Antarctic Expedition "Belgica" which took place between 1897 and 1899.
Teodor Negoiță (27 Sep. 1947 - 23 Mar. 2011) chemist and internationally renowned polar explorer, founded the Romanian Institute of Polar Research. He was the first Romanian to reach the North Pole, in 1995. In 2006 he founded the first Romanian research station in Antarctica, in co-operation with Australia, - Station LAW-RACOVITA. (without any support from the government).

The certificate is granted in two classes:
a. VISITOR - for QSO with 3 different stations located in Antarctica and 1 QSO with a WAP participant.
b. EXPLORER - for QSO with 5 different stations located in Antarctica,
     1 QSO with one Romanian station who participated in the WAP-programme (YQ0ANT, YQ2ANT, YQ8ANT), or:
     3 QSO with other different WAP stations.

The WAP (Worked Antarctic) program is held annually in February. Usually after the prefix, suffixes commonly used are ANT, AAW or ICE.

BLACK SEA ISLANDS

This certificate is issued for QSO's with different islands located in the Black Sea, shown in the IOTA program as:

EL REY DE TIERRA DEL FUEGO

Julius Popper, was an Romanian engineer, geologist, cartographer and explorer.  He was born in Romania in 15 February 1857 and died in Argentina at 5 June 1893.
He planned and systematized the city of Havana, capital of Cuba, was a cartographer and journalist in Mexico, and helped develop the urbanization plan of New Orleans - USA.
|Between 1886 and 1893 he explored and mapped Tierra del Fuego - Argentina. He named many rivers, lakes, mountains and even villages with Romanian names and issued local coins and stamps.
Popper was a member of Royal Geographic Society of Romania and Instituto Geografico Argentino. The Argentinian people named him as "Rumano Conquistador de la Patagonia", and also "El Rey de Tierra del Fuego".

This certificate is granted for making contacts as follows: 
5 QSO with 5 YO stations located in 5 different districts YO2-YO9.
2 QSO with LU stations.
1 QSO with 1 CO/CM station.
1 QSO with XE station.
1 QSO with W5 station from Oklahoma state, or 5 QSO from W5 district.

You will need a minimum 4 countries, and YO and LU contacts are compulsory.

ION PAULAT Memorial

Ion Paulat (1 Apr. 1873 - 20 Jul. 1954) was an Romanian naval officer and inventor. He was the first in the world to design and built in 1911, a seaplane with a hull. He created the first sea-monoplane in 1912. A book was published in Paris-France in 1914, titled: "Le hydroaeroplan Paulat", thus acknowledging its primacy. Romanian Academy in 1954 barely recognized his merits.

This certificate is issued for contacts with contacts in the call area YO4 and the county of Galati a port on the Danube River.

European stations:
1 QSO with Galati county.
3 QSO with any other YO4's.

1 QSO with Galati county

NORTH POLE Certificate

This certificate is issued in memory of Teodor Negoiță (27 Sep. 1947 - 23 Mar. 2011) chemist and internationally renowned polar explorer, the founder of the Romanian Institute for Polar Research, and the first Romanian research station in Antarctica. He organized expeditions to Spitzbergen, Greenland and far north of Canada, and was the first Romanian to reach the North Pole in 21 April 1995. 
In 1997 he was named the representative of Romania at Antarctic Treaty. He received two national orders, the Star of Romania in rank of Officer and Commander.

The certificate is granted in two classes:
A. Explorer - need 10 QSO with 10 different polar regions and 10 QSO's with 10 YO stations.
B. Visitor - need 5 QSO with 5 polar regions and 5 QSO with 5 YO stations.

PETRACHE POENARU

Petrache Poenaru (10 Jan. 1799 - 2 Oct. 1875), was an Romanian engineer, mathematician, inventor, educator, journalist, member of Romanian Academy and honorary member of ASTRA.
He was designed the national flag of Roumania. He is also known as the inventor of the fountain pen, patented in France at 25 May 1827, brevet nr. 3208, with the denomination: "Plume portable sans fin qui s'alimente elle meme avec de l'encre".

ROMANIAN GLOBE-TROTTERS Certificate

On 1 April 1910, four Romanians and one shepherd dog, went on a impressive trip: A walk around the entire world on foot. This kind of journey known today as globe-trotting.
The Chief of expedition Dumitru Dan (14 Jul 1889 - 4 Dec 1979), was accompanied by three friends and university colleagues, Gheorghe Negreanu, Alexndru Pascu and Paul Pârvu.
Unfortunately during this trip, Alexandru Pascu died in India, Gheorghe Negreanu in China and Paul Pârvu died in United States. Dumitru Dan alone, completed the expedition.
During 6 years, they crossed 5 continents and over 74 countries, totaling 100.000 Km!
They went through a total of 497 pairs of sandals and 28 Romanian sets of national clothes.
In 1923 the Touring Club de France named Dumitru Dan, "Champion du Monde" - "Champion of the World.
In 1985 the Guiness Book called this expedition "Unique in the world".

This certificate is issued for making a minimum of 50 QSOs with a minimum 50 DXCC countries, of the 74 completed in this memorable trip.

Sibiu county (judet) is located in south part of the historical zone of Transylvania in the southern part of Romania, bordering the Carpathian Mountains. Sibiu county has 2 municipalities, 9 towns and 53 communes. This certificate is issued for QSO' with 3 stations from SIBIU County, using any band and any mode. QSO's made after 1 January 1968 are valid for the award.

This certificate is issued for QSOs with YO-Romanian different prefixes.

ROMANIAN FORTRESS ON THE AIR AWARD (RFA)

This award will be granted to any amateur radio station who submits proof of radio contacts with stations working portable (ex: YO0XX/P) from various fortified objects located in Romania. Fortified objects include: citadels, fortresses, fortified guard towers, bastions, fortified settlements, fortified churches and monastaries, and fortified lines.

Each object has an identification code, which contains a group of two letters and 5 figures, representing the country where located and a serial number for each object. (For example: YO-00101), which isassigned in accordance with the rules of WCA. The RFA code facilitates identification of the object according to the county where located.

For the RFA awards, the valid objects will begin with the code YO-00170 to YO-00520, and all objects begining with code YO-00601 and higher. The complete list of valid objects together with the proper code is found on their website.

The award will be issued only once for contacts in any one or different bands or mode.

The 3 levels are:
A. BRONZE - need QSO with 5 different objectives.
B. SILVER: need QSO with 10 different objectives.
C. GOLD: need QSO with 25 different objectives.

  Worked Romanian Fauna & Flora Award - WRFF

Contact stations operating from Romanian YOFF reference numbers on or after 1 January 2011.
You may check your status with the online facility: http://new.enzologtrial.org/ricercheYOFF.php You enter your call sign and valid contacts for the award will be listed.

The basic award (WRFF 25) requires contacts with at least 25 stations from different YOFF protected area with at least 1 station from Romanian National or Natural Parks (YOFF-001 - YOFF-027). Higher levels: WRFF 50; WRFF 75; WRFF 100 are available for each new group of 25 under the same rules. Each award is a new design.  Awards are issued for mixed, cw, phone or digital modes. The award/s may be earned annually.

Cost of the printed award is 5 € or 5 valid IRC's. If you request that the award be sent by electronic means, there is NO COST for the .pdf document. Since QSOs are shown by the online system above, no list of contacts is needed.

RAMSAR ROMANIA Diploma

The RAMSAR wetlands in Romania are specially protected, and an award is now offered for making contacts with 3 different ones plus 3 stations operating from wetlands of other countries which are recognized by being listed as valid sites under the Fauna and Flora awards rules for those countries. Alternatively, the award may also be earned for working 5 RAMSAR wetlands only from YO. This is an annual award, where contacts for the award must be made during the current Calendar Year, January 1 to December 31.

Romanian Lighthouse Awards Series:

(1) Worked Romanian Maritime Light Houses

The award is issued for contacting stations operating from at least 5 different Romanian Maritime Light Houses from the Romanian shore of Black Sea http://wlol.arlhs.com/index.php?mode=zones&zone=ROM ) on or after 01.01.2000. lighthouses worked, you can earn, at your request, a new award.. For all those who work all Maritime Light Houses from the Romanian shore of Black Sea you can earn a special Trophy.
Electronic image of the award is free of charge. For the printed version, the fee is 10 IRCs or 10 Euros.   

(2) Worked Black Sea Maritime Light Houses

The Novice award is issued for at least 10 contact from 4 DXCC entities with radio amatteurs located nearby Maritime Light Houses on the shores of the Black Sea. If someone work 25 Maritime Light Houses from shore of Black Sea in 5 DXCC entities can get the Standard award. Contacting 50 Maritime Light Houses from 6 DXCC entities around Black Sea shore earns you Expert award. For all level also counts those located on the Azov Sea. All QSOs after 01.01.2000.

 THE YO3AC MEMORIAL DIPLOMA

Sponsored by the YO HD ANTENA DX GRUP in memory of Andrei Giurgea, YO3AC, a great promoter of amateur radio in Romania, and a Silent Key in February 1999.

Available to all licensed amateurs worldwide (SWL OK) for a log extract of two-way contacts with 25 different DXCC entities on at least two HF bands on any mode.

Applicants who had worked YO3AC on one or more bands may obtain an additional sticker for each band where they worked Andy. The log extract must show the list of these contacts and has to be certified with the signature of another licensed radio amateur.
